Was tun, wenn sich sowohl die Taktik der versuchten Eindämmung der Rechtsradikalen durch Ignorieren als auch die Praxis, jeden rassistischen Rülpser auf allen Kanälen mit lautem Echo nachhallen zu lassen als falsch erwiesen hat? Das probateste Mittel im Umgang mit Rechtspopulisten ist die Auseinandersetzung im doppelten Sinn: Zum einen die harte Konfrontation in Sachfragen – um mit guten Argumenten klar zu machen, dass Ressentiments nie auch nur ein einziges Problem lösen können. Zum anderen ein wortwörtliches Auseinander-Setzen – um zu verhindern, dass rassistische und revisionistische Positionen in den Salons der Republik fortan einen stinknormalen Diskussionsgegenstand bilden. Das ZDF hat in dieser Hinsicht im deutschen Herbst 2017 einen kapitalen Fehler begangen.
Am Tag der Wiedervereinigung, der Einheit also, lud Talkmaster Markus Lanz mit Alexander Gauland einen Mann in seine Sendung, der vehement an einer Spaltung der Gesellschaft arbeitet; der zudem ein ausgewiesener Rassist ist; der dazu anhält, stolz auf die Leistungen der deutschen Soldaten in beiden Weltkriegen zu sein.
Nicht dass es grundsätzlich falsch wäre, Mitglieder der falschen Alternative an die Polit-Talk-Tische des öffentlich-rechtlichen Fernsehens zu setzen. Ignorieren und Aussitzen ist ja eben keine Lösung. Es ist aber ein großer Unterschied, ob die Gaulands und Co. bei Anne Will von einer energischen Katja Kipping und einer besonnenen Katharina Barley gestellt werden, oder ob sie mit dem freundlichen Markus Lanz und dem witzelnden Atze Schröder in gemütlicher Runde beisammensitzen…
